Meet The Face Behind Alberta Carpet Repair

I’m Andrew Hovey, the proud owner of Alberta Carpet Repair. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My career in the carpet repair and cleaning industry began fourteen years ago, at the age of twenty-one, working for a friend and mentor. After gaining vast experience and learning the ropes, I started my first business to save people money from having to throw out their old carpets or go to another form of flooring. Alberta Carpet Repair is my second successful business which was started after I moved to Alberta. I am also certified in water and mold remediation services and bring ten-plus years of experience in this field.

In the time that I have been in the carpet cleaning and repair industry, carpets have changed, and new styles and ways to produce them have emerged, but the core steps to repairing and stretching carpets remain. So, I only get better year by year.

I love people. Getting to know people in the comfort of their homes and being able to help them save money makes me very happy. The most rewarding part of owning my own business is being able to keep the prices low. At the end of the day, I’m not seeking a big pay cheque, and doing all the work myself can save the customers lots of money because I don’t have to pay employees, which keeps my overhead costs low and the value high.

Why I’ve been successful

As an individual, what sets me apart is my philosophy is honesty first, and my reputation is everything. If my quality of work isn’t stellar, then it’s not good enough. My work is guaranteed and warrantied for three months for repairs and one year for stretching, at no extra costs.

I attribute my success to my honesty and integrity. Putting the customers first has become a platitude many companies don’t adhere to. As a small business owner, my customers are everything. If they’re not happy, then I’m not happy!

Seeing my client’s faces after I complete a repair that saves them thousands of dollars has given me immense satisfaction over the years.

During my downtime

My wife and I are Christians, so when we are not busy working, our spiritual routine comes first. We also enjoy keeping up with our close friends, playing lots of games, and like to camp, hike and travel in the winter.
